SpaceSurfer Minisearch Information
Minsearch's robot index's all the pages in your site by recursively following the links on your pages. It's starting point is the main URL of your site and a number of optional entrances. The robot only index's pages with the same root as the main URL or the entrances. The robot abides by the robots meta tag.
Minisearch's database associates all the words in the text of your pages, the title tag, the description meta tag and the keywords meta tag with the URL of the page. When a surfer fills in the search form, the database returns the titles, URL's and descriptions of the pages with all the words in the search request. The URL's description is taken from the description meta tag of the page.
Once you have registered and had your site indexed, you will have to add a search form to your site. This is done by adding an HTML fragment to one or more of your pages. You can customise the look and feel of the search results page. The general appearance can be modified to any of the settings allowed by our control panel. Furthermore, you can change the logo and the text that appears on the results page.
The results page will contain a list of search term matches, in the form of information on the matching pages, that is the title, description and URL of the pages.
